Keely Shea, Portland Doula
I’ve dedicated much of my life to supporting families, beginning with my work alongside children with developmental disabilities. That experience taught me the importance of presence, patience, and deep care—qualities that continue to guide me as a birth doula today.
I trained as a doula during the height of Covid-19 and have since had the honor of walking alongside many families through pregnancy and birth. Over the years, I’ve deepened my practice with advanced training in trauma-informed care, the mind-body connection, and nervous system support. This knowledge allows me to hold space for the wide range of emotions and experiences that can arise during such a vulnerable and transformative time.
Reiki entered my path shortly after my doula training, and its impact on my own nervous system was profound. I now weave Reiki into my practice to help pregnant clients access calm, connect more deeply with their bodies and babies, and tap into their intuitionI. Reiki offers a gentle but powerful way to release tension, ground into the present moment, and reconnect with the body’s natural wisdom.
In addition to the emotional and energetic aspects of birthwork, I have also studied the biomechanics of birth through a six-month professional training in the Body Ready Method. This work equips me to guide clients in movements and positions that support labor progress, fetal positioning, and postpartum recovery.
My mission is to provide holistic doula care that is person-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. I strive to create a nurturing, inclusive space where families feel empowered, supported, and deeply connected to their own inner wisdom.
Originally from Rhode Island, I’ve called Oregon home for the past eight years. Outside of birthwork, you can find me tending to my garden, catching up with friends and enjoying some herbal tea. My partner is an incredible chef who fills our home with delicious meals, and together we love exploring Oregon’s wild places or simply staying in to watch movies and laugh together.

Both are certified Body Ready Method Professionals, with a shared deep understanding of physiological labor and optimal positioning, and a passion for meeting clients exactly where they are. Their unique backgrounds in massage therapy and Reiki energy healing enrich their doula practice, helping them create a calm and grounded environment while providing compassionate care. When she’s not attending a birth or working with her massage clients, Krissie loves spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her daughter.
