Sarah-Denise Elolaimi, Portland Doula
As your doula, my goal is to provide you with an informed, empowered, and safe birthing experience. As a mother of three, I understand firsthand the importance of consistent support throughout the childbearing journey.
I come from a Palestinian American background and have a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. I am partially bilingual in Arabic and English and have spent much of my life traveling between the United States and the Middle East. I take great pride in working with BIPOC families and fostering inclusive, affirming spaces that honor personal authority, dignity, and cultural identity. I firmly believe that knowledge is power and that informed consent is essential to a positive birth experience.
I chose to become a doula because I learned that the pregnancy journey and the level of care during that time ultimately shape how we feel and impact us for the rest of our lives. Doulas play a unique role throughout the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. I am here specifically for you and your partner – to encourage, educate, and support you in feeling confident in the choices you make for your birth. You remain in control, and I advocate for you while working collaboratively with your medical team. I provide both physical and emotional support and am also certified in lactation and trauma-informed care.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my children. Our home is often filled with sports, movie nights, music, and laughter. I love to cook, try new recipes, and spend meaningful time with friends and family.
