Cortney Bubbles Donaca, Portland Postpartum Doula

Cortney Bubbles Donaca, Portland Doula

I find something so incredibly sacred about the postpartum period that deserves a plethora of support and attention. My passion for mothers and parents began over a decade ago when I volunteered in Tijuana, Mexico with various orphanages and seeing what it meant for a village to come together in love and support. From there I followed my heart to Grand Canyon University where I received my Masters of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development in 2021.

After returning to Oregon, I continued on this path through working as a Behavior Coach and Behavior Technician for kiddos with Autism and various other neurodevelopmental disorders. It was during these years, when I least expected it, that I crossed paths with someone who opened my eyes to my dream job: a Postpartum Doula. It married my inspiration & desire to bring aid into these life-changing moments, so from there it was a no-brainer what I needed to do. In 2023 I completed my Postpartum Doula training through Mother Tree Birth, thus receiving my certification through DONA International in 2024. Shortly after I was able to lovingly establish myself in the birthing community through Birth First Doulas and the rest was history!

My goal as a postpartum doula is to help give affirmation, assistance, and ascend your family with this new journey in any way I can. Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional help, I’m happy to be there and aid this safe space throughout the beginning stages of this new adventure!

Need a personal hype-woman or down-to-earth listening ear? I got you. A warm meal or a clean living room sounding like a dream? I’m making it a reality. Would love some alone time to do self-care or need the other kiddos to be entertained? I’m reporting for duty. Whatever the case may be, I enjoy assisting in a plethora of ways such as: light household care, sibling integration/focus, milestone/reflex development, postpartum setups, and Postpartum Depression/Postpartum Anxiety. My approach is a delightful blend of professionalism and comedic relief, with a large topping of compassion. So, whether you’re needing a professional and educated “fun aunty” or a compassionate and nerdy cheerleader, I’m your girl!

Cortney Bubble’s Testimonials

Our time with Cortney was so special and helpful! We went over our current schedule and the areas we felt we could use some help before my partner returned to work. Cortney not only listened intently, but she returned the following day with several simple solutions and helpful tips to address our concerns! We still have her print outs and hand written notes on our fridge to reference often. Cortney’s gentle compassion and respect for the postpartum experience made our time with her feel so comforting. Any family she serves would be lucky to have such a kind and helpful doula!

I would 100% recommend Cortney! She was super flexible and understanding while still being completely professional. She is a bubbly, warm, kind soul, and she gave me the ability to just have an extra set of hands, eyes, and ears. I’m a new mother and the knowledge she was able to give me while still letting me try and figure it out myself was truly MOST beneficial. She was hands-on and helpful as well as recognizing the dynamic of how our routine and family worked. Looking back, I recognize all the little details and hard work she does to make the time personal regardless of what it is she’s doing. All of my questions were answered, explained, and then she gave me resources for further information. 10/10 stars in my book!

Cortney helped us when we were about 2 weeks postpartum and I couldn’t recommend her more. She brought a sense of peace to our home that we didn’t know we needed. She is a ball of loving energy and our daughter recognizes her voice and is full of light every time we see Cortney! She is loving, full of knowledge and so supportive to both myself and my husband. We will definitely have her back with our next pregnancy!
