Cortney Bubbles Donaca, Portland Doula
I find something so incredibly sacred about the postpartum period that deserves a plethora of support and attention. My passion for mothers and parents began over a decade ago when I volunteered in Tijuana, Mexico with various orphanages and seeing what it meant for a village to come together in love and support. From there I followed my heart to Grand Canyon University where I received my Masters of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development in 2021.
After returning to Oregon, I continued on this path through working as a Behavior Coach and Behavior Technician for kiddos with Autism and various other neurodevelopmental disorders. It was during these years, when I least expected it, that I crossed paths with someone who opened my eyes to my dream job: a Postpartum Doula. It married my inspiration & desire to bring aid into these life-changing moments, so from there it was a no-brainer what I needed to do. In 2023 I completed my Postpartum Doula training through Mother Tree Birth, thus receiving my certification through DONA International in 2024. Shortly after I was able to lovingly establish myself in the birthing community through Birth First Doulas and the rest was history!
My goal as a postpartum doula is to help give affirmation, assistance, and ascend your family with this new journey in any way I can. Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional help, I’m happy to be there and aid this safe space throughout the beginning stages of this new adventure!
Need a personal hype-woman or down-to-earth listening ear? I got you. A warm meal or a clean living room sounding like a dream? I’m making it a reality. Would love some alone time to do self-care or need the other kiddos to be entertained? I’m reporting for duty. Whatever the case may be, I enjoy assisting in a plethora of ways such as: light household care, sibling integration/focus, milestone/reflex development, postpartum setups, and Postpartum Depression/Postpartum Anxiety. My approach is a delightful blend of professionalism and comedic relief, with a large topping of compassion. So, whether you’re needing a professional and educated “fun aunty” or a compassionate and nerdy cheerleader, I’m your girl!
