Brooke Noli, Portland Birth Doula

Brooke Noli, Portland Doula

With over 27 years of experience and more than 600 births attended, I bring a depth of knowledge and calm that can only come from truly having been there – in hospitals, birth centers, and homes, at all hours, through every kind of birth story imaginable.

My journey into this work began with a single, life-changing experience: supporting a dear friend through the labor and birth of her son. That day revealed something I hadn’t expected: the profound difference one calm, trusted presence can make in one of the most intense moments of a person’s life. I’ve never looked back.

I been a certified doula since 1999, and I’m also a Board Certified Patient Advocate, a credential that reflects my deep commitment to ensuring you feel informed, respected, and supported in every interaction with your care team. I’ve completed three years of midwifery training, earned an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy, and co-founded Birth First Doulas. For over a decade, I also trained and mentored new doulas, which means the skills I bring to your birth have been refined, tested, and trusted enough to pass on to others.

My background in therapy shapes the way I work. I know how to read a room, support a partner, navigate a tense moment, and help you feel genuinely heard, not just during labor, but throughout your entire prenatal and postpartum experience. That combination of clinical training, birth experience, and emotional attunement is something I’m proud to offer every family I work with.

My doula package includes three prenatal appointments, on-call services beginning at 37 weeks, labor and birth support, and two postpartum visits. I wholeheartedly support all choices, including unmedicated, epidural assited, and cesarean births, or anything in between. Whatever path your birth takes, I’ll be with you from the final stretch of pregnancy through those tender first days with your baby.

In my down time, I love spending time with family and friends, exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, scuba diving in warm waters anywhere, and laughing at whatever silliness I can find.

Brooke’s Testimonials

I wish we could give 20 stars. Brooke is beyond amazing. She put my new mom worries to rest. Whenever I had a question or concern I felt at ease talking with Brooke. My husband was a bit skeptical at first wondering if we really ‘needed’ a doula. After our first meeting with Brooke he was sold. I know that every birth is different and that we are never guaranteed to have our ‘perfect’ birth. But with Brooke in our corner we had our prefect birth. I could not have written our birth story better. She and my husband were the most amazing team, I could not have done it without them. To say that I recommend Brooke would be an understatement. Her energy is what every new mom needs.

Katie & Anthony, NW Portland

“I was fortunate enough to attend births with both Brooke and Rebecca as a baby nurse and knew I wanted to hire them even before our interview. As a nurse and doula myself I’m comfortable with the birth process but knew that it was unknown territory for my husband. Brooke and Rebecca did a beautiful job supporting us both. Their calm, reassuring presence was exactly what we needed. Rebecca came to our home to help us through some Spinning Babies maneuvers and to talk through our frustrations. Brooke attended our delivery and was such a soothing presence as contractions hit hard and I pushed out my big, beautiful girl exactly the way I had envisioned. My midwife was so impressed with Brooke that she asked for her card to refer other families and we gladly recommend this fantastic duo to any expectant parents.”

Brooke is what every pregnant mother (and her family!) needs and her services are beyond all expectations! I was not sure I needed a doula for my second birth, but after meeting Brooke I clearly understood I/we needed her. Brooke has an amazing expertise and experience, she is calm, a great listener and strong communicator. She gave us the best support possible throughout the delivery, I am also so happy with the prenatal and post-partum support we got from her! I’d highly recommend Brooke to anyone!

“We feel deeply grateful to have had Rebecca and Brooke by our side through pregnancy and birth. They were unfailingly present with support, guidance, and resources as we prepared for our daughter’s arrival . . . When it came time for our daughter to be born, labor went much faster than we expected. In the midst of that whirlwind, I remember so well the feeling of reassurance and safety I found in Brooke’s presence. She offered just the right words to help me trust in my intuition . . . As I reflect on becoming a parent, I cannot imagine birthing without the support of these two remarkable women. They are truly a gift and I look forward to calling on them again as our family grows.”

I adore Brooke, and can’t possibly convey in a simple review how much my husband and I valued her presence at the birth of our daughter. I had a wonderful birth experience, and I truly believe that’s in large part due to Brooke. Both before and during delivery, she calmed our nerves, gave us confidence, and helped to reassure us and normalize the labor and delivery process. Brooke provided critical support to both my husband and me, at home and at the hospital. Our midwife and labor/delivery nurse both, separately, commented on Brooke’s professionalism and how fortunate we were to have her there. The entire staff (midwife, nurses) did a shift change right in the middle of my pushing, and Brooke was a wonderful continuous presence during such a key time. If we decide to have another baby, I will absolutely have (beg!) Brooke by my side again.

Brooke’s guidance in our pregnancy and through our birth was so important to us. We felt really supported, and she gave us lots of information in advance that we were able to think through. Meeting with her in the pre-natal appointments gave us a chance to talk about our expectations for the birth in a way we probably wouldn’t have. During early labor, she was there with guidance (it can be so good just to have someone to talk to even before you call your midwives!), and encouragement. During active labor and the birth she was able to offer techniques that I felt really helped me. It was wonderful going into the whole experience knowing that no matter what happened with the doctors, I had an advocate that I knew and trusted.

Look no further. You have found your doula. As first first time parents, we appreciated every ounce of guidance Brooke had to give. She is the absolutely perfect balance (for us) of bold and nurturing. Her compassion and confidence were an incredible resource for us and through a very, very long labor that ended with a bang (and some stress), Brooke was there to help support the both of us. I would highly recommend her and if we have a second, we’ll be lucky to have her there with us again.

I can’t imagine going through a birth without a doula, and Brooke Noli is a top notch one! My wife and I were looking for a doula who would be comfortable working with a same-gender couple, and Brooke expressed ease and comfort with us as a couple. She truly is oriented toward the couple, not just the birth mom, and we both felt incredibly supported through the entire experience. The tools she brings, her listening skills, her genuine compassion, her sense of calm, and even her photography skills were so appreciated. We had an unexpected C-section, and Brooke was wonderful at shepherding that event in a way that helped us come to terms with what was happening, to be present, and in the post-partum visits, to help us process and tell our story. I highly recommend Brooke! We hope to use her again if we have another child.

I can’t overstate Brooke’s amazingness and the importance of the service she provides. Brooke doesn’t have an agenda–she’s not out to promote anyone else’s idea of what childbearing should look like, but instead works to get to know you so that she can advocate for your goals. She’s a fantastic educator and has a broad perspective, having attended so many births. Brooke’s support was instrumental in helping me maintain confidence and sanity during my pregnancy. Her reassurance, hands-on skills labor support, and wisdom at decision points helped me birth my daughter, and helped my husband support me. Her compassion and perspective is amazing and we hope to call on her for her services again in a few years!

Brooke was such an empowering force for my husband and I as we brought our little boy into the world. Her calm demeanor made the entire birth a very peaceful experience. Brooke is extremely attentive to your entire families needs and was 100% focused on exactly what we needed and when. We thoroughly enjoyed the two prenatal visits as Brooke educated and prepared us for a variety of possible outcomes. Her vast network and resources she taps into in Portland is amazing. Our postpartum visit also came at the perfect time as she was able to offer encouragement and help for all things related to feeding, healing, sleeping and emotional well-being. With Brooke by our side we had the perfect birth experience. What a blessing she has been and will continue to be to our family.

Hannah & Sam, SE Portland

“We hired Brooke as our labor doula, and she held my husband and I so tight through our first pregnancy and postpartum care. She went beyond labor prep by providing many referrals and resources to get us set for day one of parenthood. When it came to labor, Brooke guided me over the phone and then in-person at my home and finally at the hospital. She knew exactly how to soothe and empower me to the finish line. Her coaching was laser focused on top of honoring my birth preferences, advocating for our family from the moment we got to the hospital. After such a wonderful birth, Brooke continued to support our family through more referrals and emotional support. We plan to hire both Brooke again for our next baby!”

Manie & Jan, SE Portland

So glad we hired Brooke! For all phases of our birthing process Brooke was invaluable. especially at the hospital, her expert advice and wealth of experience reduced our anxiety to almost zero and made the whole process much more enjoyable! I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Brooke!
